[tool.name.ezzip][ezZip] Compressed files are saved to a folder other than the Desktop.
2025.07.04
I compressed a file from the Desktop, but the archive was saved in a different folder. Why did this happen?
The archive file may be saved to a different folder instead of the Desktop because the original file is actually stored in a system-designated folder, not directly on the Desktop.
This behavior is due to the Windows system policy, so it will also occur in other compression programs.
To ensure the archive is saved to where you expect, move the file to the Desktop or your desired folder before compressing.
Follow the steps below to do so.
1. In the ‘Compress’ window, select ‘View file location.’
2. Choose your desired save location.
3. Click the ‘Compress’ button to create the archive.
